Don't Miss These Chicago Area Marketing Events in December!

We look at the events that marketers will want to attend in the Chicago area in December 2016. Please let us know if you have an event to share!

The holiday season is upon us, which means we're all going to be busy with shopping, holiday parties, and family activities, but there are still plenty of great events taking place in the Chicago area in December that marketers won't want to miss! Here are some of the events we're excited about; let us know if you're planning to attend any of them!

End of Year Events

  • Wednesday, December 7, 5:30-8:30 PM: ARA Chicago: Celebrating Innovation in 2016 and Looking Ahead to 2017 - ARA is an organization that seeks to Attract, Retain, and Advance women in technology, and this event, presented in conjunction with the Chicago Innovation Awards, celebrates leaders that inspired through their innovation in 2016 and provides opportunities for networking and inspiration for the year to come. Tickets are $20.
  • Thursday, December 8, 6:00 PM - Tech in Motion’s End of Year Celebration - This free event celebrates people and companies who are driving innovation in Chicago, and it will include multiple speakers, demos from companies, and opportunities for networking.

Other Events

  • Tuesday, December 6, 6:00-8:30 PM - Innovation for the Ages: This event, presented by the Chicago Innovation Awards, will highlight people who have launched new products, services, businesses, or non-profits after the age of 60. Tickets are $35.
  • Thursday, December 8, 7:00-10:00 PM: Chicago Inno 50 on Fire: This event recognizes Chicago's most visionary people and organizations across a number of industries, including education, marketing, design, and development. Tickets are $65.
  • Tuesday, December 13, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM: Madison HubSpot User Group: We've gotten a lot of value out of attending HubSpot User Group (HUG) meetings in the past, so while it's a little bit outside of the Chicago area, if you can make it to Madison, Wisconsin for this HUG, we recommend doing so.

Holiday Parties

The holidays provide many people with a great excuse to get together and celebrate the past year, and these parties are a great chance for networking with other marketing professionals and people in your local business community. In addition, many events are structured around charitable fundraising, allowing us to celebrate the holiday season by giving to people in need. Here are a few of the great holiday parties taking place in Chicago this year:

  • Thursday, December 1, 6:00-9:00 PM: Building Bridges Holiday Party and Shopping Extravaganza - This event will feature opportunities for networking with local small business professionals and shopping for holiday gifts from local vendors. Tickets are $25.
  • Saturday, December 3, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Giving Trees Festival: This family event features trees decorated by local businesses and organizations, family activities, food, and entertainment, with all proceeds benefitting Project Mobility. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children.
  • Wednesday, December 7, 5:30-8:30 PM: Chicago User Group Holiday Party - This free event is a great opportunity for area software developers and coders to meet and network, and it will include food, drinks, and plenty of giveaways!
  • Friday, December 9, 8:00-10:00 PM: Sparkle and Shine Holiday Mixer - This holiday celebration for women entrepreneurs will feature opportunities to connect with a diverse community, music, appetizers, and holiday gifts available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds from the event going toward the launch of Chicago's first female founders coworking and collaboration space. Tickets are $25.
  • Tuesday, December 13, 5:30-7:30 PM: General Assembly's Chicago Holiday Happy Hour - This free event is a great way for members of Chicago's tech, business, startup, and student communities to connect with each other. 
  • Thursday, December 15, 5:30-10:00 PM: Chicago Holiday Social and Toy Drive - This event from Network and Social Chicago will not only provide an opportunity to network with Chicago entrepreneurs and professionals, but it will also collect toys for children in need. Tickets are $15 or $12 for students.
  • Saturday, December 17, 9:00 PM - 12:00 AM: Habitat for the Holidays Ugly Sweater Party - This networking event for young professionals, which benefits Habitat for Humanity Chicago, includes an open bar, light appetizers, and a silent auction and raffle. Tickets are $50.
